WEST PALM BEACH, FL – On Thursday, November 17, supporters, students, and non-profit organizations gathered at the Paddock Restaurant at the Palm Beach Kennel Club (PBKC) for a breakfast event that left everyone feeling overcome with inspiration.
The Overcomer Breakfast, organized by the Rooney’s Golf Foundation, brought awareness and support to local nonprofit organizations that serve the autism community including Potentia Academy.
The event’s guest speaker, Alexis Wineman, the first known Miss America contestant with autism, showed the audience the true meaning of being an ‘overcomer’.
“When Ms. Wineman says, ‘Autism does not define me, I define my autism,’ she serves as an amazing role model and helps those on the spectrum see the possibilities,” says Dr. Duane Meeks, President, and CEO of Potentia Academy. “We at Potentia are extremely grateful to the Rooney’s Golf Foundation for including us in this spectacular event”.
